Starting playing guitar at age 13
Formed his first group, Steel Mill, when he was in college
Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J., Bruce's first album, was released in January 1973
It was considered a "New (Bob) Dylan" effort
Born to Run, one of his most popular albums of all-time came out in October 1975
Within the course of one month, the album went gold and hit Number 3 on the charts
"Born in the U.S.A.", the single from his album with the same name, was released in 1984.
It is one of his most popular tunes
It reached Number 9 on the singles charts
People believed it was a Patiotic anthem, when indeed it was not
It was about the struggle in the Vietnam War and the Reagan Administration
He has since released 10 studio albums
In 2004, he embarked on an Anti-Bush tour called the "Vote for Change Tour"
He teamed up with R.E.M., Pearl Jam, and Dixie Chicks for that tour
In 2009, he recieved Kennedy Center Honors
In January 2009, he played at President Barack Obama's inauguration in to the White House
